Actually, quite frankly, the commentary is more interesting messages themselves. (Not to insult the author, of course:))

I am thinking about making the jump from Joomla! to WordPress to build a blogging site.

After building about a dozen sites with Mambo/Joomla!, I am, of course, hesitant.

I have not had a good look at the WP core code yet, but I have read plenty that it is not all that great. Any truth to that?

On the other hand, the development of Joomla!, without such built-in features as many-to-many categorization and horrible SEF URLs (major disappointment with 1.5 RC1) , has led me to consider greener pastures.
It seems like their focus was mostly on internationalization, which is completely useless for almost everyone.

A Pro to Joomla! is that he community is a bit more organized. It is easy to surf the extensions and find stuff in the forum (of course that is just an integrated project).

I currently have WordPress installed on the site, but will probably keep my finger near the delete button if I find it slow to manipulate and customize.

Thanks for the post.

Thanks for the comment. I won't give up on Joomla completely yet. I certainly hope Joomla 1.5 and by giving some time, it will be different.

having worked with mambo then to joomla, now going for wordpress since a lot of the extensions do not work in the previons cms. If you have small or big site, you are wasting time with other cms. Stick 2 wordpress!
